Wow... Being a mom of two is so weird! We have had a very busy 2 weeks since Avery was born. Also an emotional 2 weeks with all the family being here. My parents left yesterday and April left this afternoon. I think I can speak for Donny, Trais and I when I say that we were very sad to see them all leave. It was easy moving down since we knew that we would be seeing the family very soon.

Aww, hon! I'm sorry it was so emotional seeing everyone leave. But know that there's plenty of people who love you guys and will do everything within their power to come see ya'll.
Plus the holidays aren't too far away now, I'm assuming you'll be coming home for that - yes?
That pic with her covering her face is priceless! She is like no more pics please! LOl! It looks like Trais is adjusting well to the new baby so far:) I think that there is enough space between them that he will love her forever no fights! Knock on wood! Tell him Auntie Jen and Trysten miss him!
YES, WOW indeed Justine!
From the MIRACLE of her conception, to the day of her birth forward, Avery Layne is a gift BEYOND MEASURE in every way!
Thank you Donny and Justine for sharing your great gift with Chuck/NJ and Ken/April - the VERY HONORED new grand parents!
July 29, 2008 - It was a grand parent’s joy to watch as Justine, Donny and later Trais experienced the most pure expressions of "unconditional love" for Missy Avery! She was today born PERFECT! Mr. Trais finally has the little sister he said he was wishing for back in July of 2007!
Justine (having at younger age experienced a first birth of Mr. Trais) took nothing for granted and even counted all of Avery's fingers and toes. Ahhhhhh relief, there were 10 and 10 so we could all marvel at her beauty/perfection together in the greatest of joy!
Our first trip to Round Rock TX was absolutely wonderful! Beautiful town, friendly home, and awesome FAMILY gathering even tho' short in duration! It was a great pleasure to help you Justine and Donny as you further journey through the joys of parenting and carving out your new life as a family. We are so blessed to have you all in our lives! The trip gave us valuable time to get to know Donny and April better. Donny, what can I say? We are thrilled that you will share an appreciated LIFE with our precious daughter Justine, our precious grand son Trais and now our precious grand daughter Avery! I love your open style of communication - I can relate! And April, what a wonderful and caring mom, mother-in-law and new grandma! You're truly a jewel! I have always wished for Justine to have an especially nice relationship with her mother-in-law (Donny's mom) as I have had with Justine's Grandma Fran, Chuck's mom and Auntie Marion, Chuck's Aunt! These relationships are what good family lives are made of and we are thrilled that our wish has come to be! And, what fun we had with Mr. Trais! Our visit with Trais, Julia and Phillip and Mike/Fuling was more limited than we would have liked but nevertheless memorable - what a beautiful home to share and a terrific Korean BBQ dinner - what generous hosts as always! There is always something new to learn and enjoy when visiting with the "Gibson, family of 4"! The short but wonderful trip to visit Great Grandpa Al and Great Grandma Sharon (GGA and GGS as named by Trais) was really fun and a great experience for all of us including Trais. He will look forward to getting to visit with them again including "Thunder" the miniature horse, no doubt! We are glad for your family that you have the "Gibson Family of 4" and the elder Gibson's to now share some time with. Family is most PRECIOUS and when each of the members contributions are cherished with loving acceptance, an attractive and genuine tolerance of differences and deliberate forgiveness of mis-understandings, the JOY of building on family relationships teaches us to bring out the best in ALL relationships of our short lives - a most REAL measurement of Life's TRUE SUCCESS and the REWARDS of a life well-lived indeed.
They say that "absence makes the heart grow fonder" and while I am not sure our heart and soul could be any more fond, Chuck and I will surely do everything possible to wish upon you all further happiness and continue to share and enjoy in our new distance relationship with you Donny and Justine! We love you deeply and every minute with you and Trais/Avery will be cherished while near and afar - we already miss you all and it has only been 2 days from our first visit to Texas. We love you deeply! Each night when you hug those two precious babies, please give an extra hug and kiss from Grandma NJ and Grandpa Chuck! And then when you daily hug one another, know that we share a group hug with you ALL today and forever!
Love from GrandMA Norma-Jean and GrandPA Chuck
Well, after a late flight, little sleep and a very early morning returning to work, it's nice to reflect back on my two weeks in Texas with Don, Jus, Trais, Baby Avery, Grandma Norma and Grandpa Chuck. Being Don's and Jus' daughter, of course, Baby Avery had to make a big splash when she entered the world! After some tense moments, and a few gray hairs earned by all adults involved, everything turned out beautifully. Avery is as sweet and cute as a button and Justine, though tired and hurting, is recovering nicely. And a real trooper that girl is too! She hardly let major surgery slow her down. Within a couple of days we were out and about again and took little Avery EVERYWHERE!! Justine, you are an amazing woman and an awesome mother. I love you like a daughter! That little girl will be a trooper just like her mother. Donny is showing himself to be the fine man, husband and father that we raised him to be. Don, you make us so very proud. There are not many young guys out there like you and to know that we raised you to be such a great guy makes us so happy. You and Justine are a match made in heaven and you will raise up little Avery and her awesome big brother, Trais, to be outstanding people, just like yourselves.
I had an awesome time in Texas. Had a lot of fun (despite the big scare) and got to know Grandma Norma and Grandpa Chuck a lot better. You're both awesome, with big hearts, big feelings and a lot of love for Jus, Don & the kids, plus Chuck is a pretty handy remodeler too! We went to the lake, I spent too much money at the Coach Outlet(and loved it!), we ate a lot of different food, drank some good coffee and some bad Texas coffee too (who knew shots expire after 10 seconds - I learn something new every day). I loved holding Avery and playing with Trais and with Hurley, the other little peanut in the house! Don's stories of the academy and work are always so interesting. Don, we're so proud of how well you are doing! I just had a wonderful, wonderful time. I hated to leave the four of you amd miss you every minute we're apart. The good news is that we'll be returning for Don's graduation on Sept. 17th, just a few short weeks away. Can't wait to see you all again! More good times to be had. Thanks for the memories!!! Love you, Mom
Oh Justine, he's just beautiful. And you all look so happy! I'm thrilled that everyone is happy and healthy. We miss you up here!!
